Drainage
How does relief influence the character of the place
If a place os hilly it is likely to be more remote
Large cities are usually on flat land
How does altitude influence the character of the place
High altitude = may be more remote
Sea-side towns rely on proximity to sea and thus, low altitudes
How does aspect influence the character of the place
Affects the local climate
How does drainage influence the character of the place
Places prone to flooding may be unsuitable for building developments - more remote perhaps
Are people an exogenous or endogenous factor
Endogenous (mainly)
Obviously migrants/tourists for example would be exogenous
In wat ways can people influence the character of a place
Religion Language Culture Politics Crime rates Employment opportunities Levels of income
Why might a place form relationships with other places and how would tis affect the place’s character
Investment from TNC’s - affect consumption patterns and culture
Migration - If lots of people move from a. similar place to the same place, they will bring there religions and culture
Trade - people begin consuming commodities from elsewhere (potentially more culturally diverse)
Tourism - promote specific touristic industries within the visited place
