acute, self-limiting rash which tends to affect young adults

what are the featues of pityriasis rosea?
A
sometimes there is a history of recent viral infection
1. herald patch (usually on trunk)
2. followed by erythematous, oval, scaly patches

what is the typical distribution of the scaly rash in pityriasis rosea?
A
- longitudinal diameters of the oval lesions running parallel to the lin of langer
- produce a ‘fir-tree’ appearance

what is the management of pityriasis rosea?
A
self-limiting (disappears after 6-12 weeks)
