What is a pilot study?
A small-scale version of an investigation that takes place before the real investigation is conducted. The aim is to check that procedures, materials, etc work and can be modified if necessary
Single-blind procedure
Researcher is aware of aims of investigation, participant is unaware
Double-blind procedure
Neither the participants nor the researcher are aware of the aims of the investigation (a third party conducts investigation)

The experimental group
