Four confederates enacted the emergency situation

Victim (both races) would fall over in the critical area and the model would either intervene early (after 70 sec) or late (after 150 sec) but it a passenger helped the model didn’t intervene. Observers recorded how long before help, no of helpers, gender, race, and comments
What are 2 findings?
1) 90% of the 1st helpers were male
2) people took longer to help the drunk victim (5sec for cane, 109sec for drunk)
What is 1 conclusion?
People are more likely to help someone who is not responsible for the situation

- Suggests that the likelihood of being helped in an emergency does not have to be reduced to number of witnesses
