What is the definition of determinism?
The belief that behaviour is determined by factors beyond a person’s control
What is the definition of free will?
Where a persons behaviour is from their own personal choice rather than fate

Memory determined by the verb in question
How does Moray show determinism?
The participants’ ability to hear the shadowed passage was determined by either the researcher’s instructions or by whether there was an affective cue.
How does Simons and Chabris show determinism?
This study demonstrates our attentional processes can influence us in such a way that we fail to see an object that was in our centre of vision for 5 seconds. Our cognitive processes such as attention clearly influence our behaviour I.e not being able to correctly identify the unexpected event, and we have no conscious control over it.

We make assumptions on our own free will due to evidence from our own eyes
