Cause of seborrhoeic keratosis
Unknown mostly
?chronic UV exposure
Presentation of seborrhoeic keratosis
“stuck-on” appearance
large variation in colour from flesh-light brown-black
+/- keratotic plugs on surface
Tx of seborrhoeic keratosis
Reassurance
Options for removal - curettage, cryosurgery, shave biopsy
What is dermatosis pupulosa nigra
a variant of seborrhoeic keratosis that sometimes develops in black people or women
Presentation of dermatosis pupulosa nigra
multiple small dark brown soft papules on face, neck, chest
What is a keratocanthoma
Dome-shaped erythematous lesion that develops over a period of days
Presentatin of a keratocanthoma
Very fast growing
dome -shaped erythematous lesion with central pit of keratin
necrotising and sloughs off
Mx of keratocanthoma
Can spontaneously fall off after a few days

Curettage and cautery
What is a pyogenic granuloma
A friable overgrowth of a granulation site at sites of minor trauma
Tx of pyogenic granuloma
Curettage and cautery
