Sets duties:
- Employers have a duty toward employees and members of public
- Employees have a duty toward eachtoher and themselves
- Certain self e,ployed have a responsibility toward themselves and others

Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012

A
  • Prohibits the use of asbestos containing materials
  • Sets out requirements for non-domestic property owners to identify and manage
  • If works are going to disturb asbestos a risk assessment is required
  • Sets out three types of works:
  • Licensed: Licesnsed contractor required. Most works. If exposure is 0.1fibres/cm3/minute
  • Non-Licsned: Anyone can do. Sproadic, short term. Exposure is 0.6fibres/cm3/10 minute
  • Notifiable Non-Licensed: If works are short term but repetitive.

Data Protection Act 2018

A

Sets out principlse on how organisations can use peoples data:
- used fairly, lawfully and transparently
- used for specified, explicit purposes
- used in a way that is adequate, relevant and limited to only what is necessary
- accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date
- kept for no longer than is necessary
- handled in a way that ensures appropriate security, including protection against unlawful or unauthorised processing, access, loss, destruction or damage
It also gives people rights to find out:
be informed about how your data is being used
- access personal data
- have incorrect data updated
- have data erased
- stop or restrict the processing of your data
- data portability (allowing you to get and reuse your data for different services)
- object to how your data is processed in certain circumstances

A
  • UKS commitment to reduce the affects of Green House Gases
  • Throught he target of reducing net zero affect of GHG’s by 2050
  • It sets out a framework of how to achieve the target
  • Through the use of carbon budgets, which are caps on teh amount of ghg’s emitted by industries

Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order)

A
  • Places obligations on responsible people of premisis to complete a fire risk assessment and review regularly
  • Relates to all places of works and communal areas of flats
  • Responsible person is anyone who has an element of control of a building or an area of one
  • Fire risk assessment must:
  • Identify potential places/causes for fiires to start
  • Make recommendations for the reduction in the likelyhood of it starting
  • Introduce measures to keep all people safe
