  • E.g. The child experience in the nursery sandpit fits with their schema

A
  • Disequilibrium occurs
  • A new experience disturbs the child’s schema
  • E.g. Water is added to the sandpit. The sand behaves differently, which upsets the child’s schema

What’s the last stage after disequilibrium

  • Accommodation
  • The child’s schema changes to take account of the new experience
