Physics Electromagnetic Induction Flashcards
What is Faraday’s First Law
In a closed coil,if Magnetic flux changes(If B,A or Theta changes),a potential difference is created, this potential difference is called EMF.
What is the main setting of Faraday’s 1st law
Emf or potential difference is created only in a “CLOSED CIRCUIT”:)
Faradays 1st law in terms of magnet
Whenever there is A RELATIVE MOTION BETWEEN A CLOSED COIL AND MAGNET,AN EMF IS INDUCED OR POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE IS CREATED AS number of field lines with magnet to the coil increases
Till when does EMF LASTS
When the change in flux becomes 0
What is Lenz Law
The direction of induced emf is always opposite to cause producing it like magnetic flux
What if B is increasing, according to Lenz law what happens
A magnetic opposing the magnetic field increases
What if in a closed circuit Area vector increases according to Lenz law
An induced current flows in a direction which creates a Magnetic field opposing the change in area in the direction opposite to change in area
What is Ac generator
It is a machine which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy
