Ex. When you ride your bike friction slows you down unless you are pushing on the breaks. Sometimes when you get off your bike and you feel the tires sometimes the are hot.

An object at rest stays at rest until a force acts on it and a object in motion will stay in motion in these direction unless acted upon by a unbalanced force
