Q

What is osmosis?

A

Osmosis causes salt to move across a permeable membrane from an area of greater salinity to an area of lesser salinity

  • water moves from lesser salinity to great salinity

** after time the water and salt ratio will be equal on each side **

Q

What affects plant growth?

A
  1. Gravity
    * geotropism - response to polar gravity
    - sends roots down to the core and stems to the earth
  2. Light
    * phototropism - searching for the light, growing towards the light
  3. Stress
    * frost or damage (external factors)
