Nasogastric Intubation

A
  • Stand on left side of horse (esophagus on left side of neck)
  • Keep head flexed at 90 degrees - do not extend
  • Angle tube ventrally
  • Can leave tube in for 10-12 hours - may cause necrosis of tissue in nasal passage
