What are five reasons why photosynthesis is so important ?
A
1- To produce the food that we eat
2- As a source of energy - heat, light and electricity - fossil fuels, coal, gas and firewood
3. Materials that we make and use in our everyday lives - timber, paper plastics
4. The oxygen we breathe - a waste product of photosynthesis and utilised by aerobic creatures
5. Plants and vegetation use large amounts of water - cleans contaminants from the soil, reduces flooding risk.
