5
Q

Accessory pigments

A

They are used as an aid to pass on the light that’s required, it enables the plant to absorb the wanted colour,

Q

What is chlorophyll

A

Is a green pigment required for photosynthesis that traps the radiant energy of sunlight, it captures and transfers it to electrons, the electrons are “excited”.

13
Q

Difference between aerobic and anaerobic

A

Anaerobic does not require oxygen, rapid ATP production, less efficient energy transfer and only produces 2 ATP molecules.
Aerobic - oxygen required, slower rate of production 36 ATP molecules produced,

Q

Why is cellular so important in plants

A

Plants need to make glucose faster than cellular respiration making it, if photosynthesis is faster, plants can grow successfully. If plants close up their stromas, photosynthesis can slow down but won’t stop. They take a very slow time to grow.
