Camera Obscura
an optical device that projects an image of its surroundings on a screen
Calotype
an early photographic process introduced in 1841 by William Henry Talbot, using paper coated with silver iodide.
Daguerreotype
The first commercially successful photographic process by Louis Daguerre. The image is a direct positive made in the camera on a silvered copper plate.
Carte-de-Visite
A type of small photograph which was patented in Paris, France by photographer André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854.
