Phenom 300 Landing Gear/ Brakes Flashcards
Describe the mechanism that locks the MLG and NLG in the down position.
MLG: Locking Ring internal to the actuator
NLG: Over-centered Spring Loaded Locking Stay mechanism
What action unlocks the MLG and NLG during retraction?
MLG: Hydraulic pressure applied to the retract side of actuator.
NLG: Hydraulic pressure applied to the Downlock Release Actuator releasing the Locking Stay mechanism
Describe the mechanism that locks the MLG and NLG in the up position
MLG: Hook attached to Uplock Box
NLG: Hook attached to Uplock Box
What action unlocks the MLG and NLG during extension?
MLG: Hydraulic pressure applied to Uplock Box Release Actuator
NLG: Hydraulic pressure applied to Uplock Box Release Actuator
What actions occur when the Gear Emergency Extension Handle is Pulled?
- Uplock Box Hooks are mechanically released
- Hydraulic fluid in all Landing Gear lines is opened to Hydraulic Return
- Landing Gear extends to the locked position through Gravity and Aerodynamic Force
What criteria must be met to trigger the gear aural warning with the flaps in UP, 1, or 2 position?
At least 1 Landing Gear not down and ALL of the following:
- Altitude…..less than 700 LFE or AGL
- Airspeed…less than 160 KTS
- One Thrust Lever Angle less than 26* with the other less than 40* (AEO)
- Thrust Lever Angle less than 40* (OEI)
What criteria must be met to trigger the gear aural warning with the flaps in 3 or FULL position?
At least one Landing Gear not down, regardless of Altitude, Airspeed, or Thrust Lever Angle.
Under what conditions can the gear aural warning NOT be silenced?
Flaps in 3 or FULL position
What type of Brake/Wheel protections are provided by the Brake Control Unit? (5)
- Antiskid Protection
- Locked Wheel Protection
- Touchdown Protection
- Retraction Braking
- Initiated Built in Test (IBIT)
Is Antiskid protection available when using the Emergency Brake Handle?
NO
Can the Emergency/Parking Brake accumulator be charged without system pressure?
NO
How many parking brake applications are available with a full accumulator charge?
6
What is the minimum required cooling period following an aborted takeoff or landing above the Quick Turn-Around Weight?
20 minutes
Where can the brake cooling periods be found?
POH Vol 2 - Performance
How do the brakes work on the Phenom 300?
- Rudder pedal brake pressure is applied and felt by a pedal transducer
- The Pedal transducer send this info to the BCU
- The BCU controls the BCV allowing hydraulic pressure to squeeze the brakes.
