Phase 1 Dynamic Alignment Principles Flashcards
Malalignment of body structures during movement
Correlates to the abnormal stresses to body tissues
Dynamic Alignment can be used to assess quality of movement:
By assessing relationships between head, torso, and extremities during movement
Dynamic alignment applies to our structural alignment as well as our:
a) Relationship to the environment,
b) Mental perception of our bodies in space,
c) Beliefs of our ability or lack of ability to move
According to lecture, dynamic alignment can positively affect which of the following:
a) Self-esteem
b) Healthy organs
c) Energy conservation
Dynamic Alignment in the joints can be achieved by:
Optimizing joint congruence
Dynamic Alignment can be used to facilitate
Spontaneous and efficient neuromuscular organization for the desired movement
To activate neuromuscular
In Polstar we use alignment and load as powerful tools to
Facilitate proper neuromuscular activation without having to use isolated or volitional cueing of muscle contractions
Alignment combined with created load can
Gradually aducate the body in a natural and childlike way, to restore healthy human movements
Focus on Alignment and load
And trust that body will learn
Alignment is necessary for self fulfillment. Maslow explains in his Hierarchy of Human Needs
before self actualization we need to be aligned
As moving practitioners we do much more than just teaching exercises
we reinforce self-esteem, confidence and. alignment
We study the body and understand when our muscular skeletal system of body is balanced
the other systems including digestive, imune, circulatory, nervous system all function better. When our system functions better, our mind is clear. We tend to think better and We tend to perform better at work. And we tend to be happier and we tend to be kinder.
