Pharmacodynamics Flashcards
What is a receptor agonist?
A drug that attaches to a receptor & activates like a natural transmitter.
What is a enzyme inhibitor?
A drug that blocks the action of an enzyme, blocking a chemical reaction.
What is a receptor antagonist?
A drug that attaches to a receptor, and blocks it.
Morphine attaches to opiate receptors, what kind of drug is it?
Receptor Agonist
