A

Raised plasma metanephrines and normetanephrines

(also could measure urinary catecholamines and CT to image tumour)

How is phaeochromocytoma treated?

A

First give alpha blocker (eg phenoxybenzamine)

Then beta-blocker (eg atenolol)

If surgery is possible, excise tumour
