How does sound design reinforce Tarantino’s position as a postmodern auteur?

A

Tarantino’s ability to reference pop culture is a clear example of his post-modern style. He is able to re-energise retro classic songs of the 50s, 60s and 70s and reinvent them for contemporary audiences

Q

How do we know that Tarantino’s choice of music is well received by audiences?

A

The soundtracks of his first two films became mainstream successes in their own right. Critics have also suggested that the music also enhances characters, rather than merely underscoring the narrative
