A

Azithromycin, eliminates nosopharyngeal carriage. Want to prophylactically treat family

Possible complications of pertusis?

A

pneumonia, atelectasis (complete or partial collapse of the lung), pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum, emphysema

What is the recommended interval for pertussis vaccine?

A

DTAP- 2, 4, 6, months. Booster at 18 months and 4 yo. TDAP at 11 years old. Booster every 10 years (ONLY VACCINE FOR BORDATELLA PERTUSSIS)
