We have biological (food), instrumental (laws), and integrative(religion,art ) needs.
Without culture we would return to basic forms of life. Consensus and harmony
Symbolic interactionist perspective
Focus less on role of culture and more in maintenance of culture in people’s lives.
Money has taken on a life of its own. Doesn’t deal with large social structures
Post modern perspective
Focus on many cultures rather than one. Conditioned by media and technology
Produces a social world that isn’t real but simulated( video games)
