They are an enduring pattern of inner experience and behaviour that deviate markedly from the expectations of individuals culture
- inflexible, stable, not explained by other diagnoses, not attributable to psychological change

Cluster A: paranoid, schizoid, schizotypal
Cluster B: antisocial, narcissistic, borderline, histrionic
Cluster C: obsessive compulsive, avoidant, dependant
