With learning disability there is increased prevalence of mental disorder, mood disorder, OCD, ADHD, challenging behaviour

Why are communication skills important?
A
In order to communicate well, may need to use non verbal cues, sign language, pictures
Be prepared to meet several times
Use the knowledge and support of carers
