Paranoid Personality Disorder
A. Pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others indicated by (4 or more):
- Suspects others are exploiting/harming
- doubts loyalty of friends
- Reluctant to confide information
- Reads hidden meanings
- Persistent grudges
- Perceives attacks on character
- Recurrent suspicion of fidelity
B. Does not occur exclusively during course of schizophrenia/bi-polar/or other psychotic disorders.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
A. Pervasive Pattern of detachment from social situations/restricted range of emotions in interpersonal settings (4 or more)
- No desire or enjoyment in close relationships
- Chooses solitary activities
- Little interest in sexual experiences
- Little pleasure in activities
- Lacks close friends
- Indifferent to praise or criticism
- Emotional coldness/detachment/flat affect
B. Does not occur exclusively during schiz/bi/psych/ episodes.
Shizotypal Personality Disorder
A. Pervasive social/interpersonal deficits with acute discomfort with/reduced capacity for close relationships AND cognitive perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior (5 or more) of the following:
- Ideas of reference
- Odd beliefs or magical thinking
- perceptual/bodily illusions
- Odd thinking/speech
- Suspiciousness/paranoid ideation
- Inappropriate or constricted affect
- Odd/eccentric behavior.
- Lack of close friends
- Excessive social anxiety
B. Does not occur exclusively in schiz/bi/psyc.
Anti-Social Personality Disorder
A. A pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 (3 or more)
- Failure to conform to social norms/unlawful behaviors
- Deceitfulness
- Impulsivity
- Irritability and aggressiveness
- Reckless disregard for safety
- Irresponsibility
- Lack of remorse
B. At least 18
C. Conduct Disorder before age 15
D. Not during schizo/bi disorder.
Borderline Personality Disorder
A. A pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects marked by impulsivity (five or more)
- efforts to avoid abandonment
- Unstable interpersonal relationships between idealization and devaluation
- Identity disturbance
- Impulsivity two self damaging areas
- Suicidal behavior/gestures or threats
- Affective instability
- Chronic feelings of emptiness
- Inappropriate, intense anger
- Transient stress related paranoid ideation
Histrionic PD
Pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking (5 or more)
- Uncomfortable not center of attention
- sexually seductive behavior
- Rapidly shifting shallow expression of emotion
- physical appearance to draw attention
- impressionistic style of speech, lacks detail
- exaggerated expression of emotion
- Suggestible
- relationships more intimate than they are
Narcissistic PD
A. A pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, lack of empathy (5 or more)
- Grandiose sense of self importance
- fantasies of unlimited success/power/brilliance/beauty
- Believes special
- Requires admiration
- Entitled
- Exploitive
- Lacks empathy
- Envious
- arrogant
Avoidant PD
A. A pervasive pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, hypersensitivity to negative evaluation (4 or more)
- Avoids interpersonal activities
- Unwilling involvement unless certain liked
- Restraint for fear of being shamed
- Preoccupation with being criticized
- Inhibited in new interpersonal situations
- self as socially inept, inferior
- reluctant to take risks fear embarrassment.
Dependent PD
Pervasive excessive need to be taken care of/submissive clinging behavior (5 or more)
- Difficulty making decisions
- Needs others to assume responsibility
- Difficulty expressing disagreement
- Difficulty initiating projects or doing things
- Excessive lengths to obtain support
- Uncomfortable/helpless when alone
- Urgently seeks close relationships
- preoccupied with fears of being left to care for self
Obsessive Compulsive PD
Pervasive pattern of orderliness/perfectionism/mental and interpersonal control at expense of flexibility (4 or more)
- Preoccupied with lists/details/rules/order…
- Perfectionism interferes with completion
- Excessive devotion to work/productivity
- inflexible about morals values.
- unable to discard old worn out items
- Unwilling to delegate tasks unless done exactly
- Miserly spending style
- Rigidity and stubbornness
