Cluster B - Personality Disorder
Dramatic, impulsive or emotional personality characteristics
Anti-social personality disorder: 1st requirement
• Individual must have a continual pattern of disregard for and violation of other occurring since age 15
•3 or more of the patterns listed below
A. Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest
B. Deceitfulness, repeated lying, use of false identity, conning others for personal profit or pleasure
C. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead, lack consequential thinking
D. Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights & assaults
E. Consistent irresponsibility. Indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations.
F. Reckless disregard for safety of self or others
G. Lack of remorse, Lack of guilt
Anti-social personality disorder: 2nd requirement
The individual is at least 18 years of age.
Anti-social personality disorder: 3rd requirement
Anti-social behavior is not exclusively during a schizophrenic or manic episode
Anti-social personality disorder: 4th requirement
Conduct disorder has been diagnosed with onset before 15 years of age
What is conduct disorder?
• requirements of repetitive and persistent pattern of behavior in which basic rights of others w/ 3 or more of the criterion & at least 1 of the criterion is present over the past 6 months.
What is criterion A in conduct disorder?
•Aggression to people and animals
- Bullies
- Initiates physical fights
- Used of threatens use of a weapon
- Been physically cruel to people or animals
- Using force or threat and stealing (mugging, extortion (ex: taking $, robbery)
- Forced sexual behavior
