does not measure personality, but looks at how personality is expressed
johari window categories
- (open self)
- (blind self)
- (unknown self)
- (hidden self)
- open self
information Known to me and others
contains the things that are openly talked about and known
- blind self
Information Known to others, but not me (blind self)
Contains things that others observe that we don’t know about ourselves
These can be either positive or negative
Johari window- the unknown self
Information not known to me or others
contains things that nobody knows about. This could be because we’ve never exposed this part of our personality
johari window- hidden self
information Known to me, but not others.
This is your personal secret zone which contains aspects of ourselves that we alone know and keep hidden from others. These are parts of our personality that we deliberately keep from others.
effective reflection
person must be willing to actively reflect on themselves
Trust will be higher within the group and this can lead to more success and open ideas within a group. leaders with this tendency, tend to be highly effective.
Not doing this can cause the trust to be reduced with those you work with and it is likely that people will struggle to form a relationship within their team.
