What is an important safety rule following briefing
-Ask questions regarding the brief to solidify expectations
What is the LCES system of safe work procedures?
Lookouts - experienced firefighters that can “read” a fire
Communications - firefighters must remain in constant communications with the fireline
Escape Routes - Provided for rapid access to safety zones for firefighters retreating from a compromised fireline. (requires constant monitoring incase current escape route is compromised)
Safety Zone - planned locations where retreating firefighters may find refuge from danger. Effectiveness is dependent on the areas ability to shelter from all danger (heat,smoke,falling snags, rolling debris)

What is the standard PPE for fire fighters?
Worksafe B.C. requires that workers engaged in firefighting wear:
- Long sleeved flame resistant shirts (cotton wool denim)
- Safety boots
- Hardhats with chinstrap
- goggles when required
- chaps when using chainsaws
What must be done after a fire regarding safety?
DTA danger tree assessment. Must be re-assesed upon each entry
