Why do you want to join the ADF?
A
- I’ve always wanted to join the ADF since I was younger
- I want to work in a job with purpose (help people OP COVID, OP Render Safe)
- I have a desire to work hard and be challenged, alongside people who share the same ambitions and goals that I have
- I want to contribute to the protection of Australia
- Work with cutting edge technology that otherwise would not see in civilian jobs
- Ability to reach my full potential

What can you tell us about the ADF?
A
- Comprises of Army, Navy, Air Force
- Army’s land focused, Navy – water, Air Force – Air
- Together they provide defensive options for Australia

What do you find appealing about becoming an Officer?
A
- The responsibility of leadership
- The ability to represent the defence and fulfil an important purpose
- The opportunities it provides i.e., ability to learn and grow as a member of the defence force and as a leader
- Contribute to the positive culture within ADF and be in a position where I can help others reach their full potential

Where do you see yourself in 15 years?
A
- I see Myself as a flight instructor at No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit RAAF, I enjoy teaching people
- As a lieutenant commander leading a Weapons Engineering department in a major warship such as HMAS Hobart
- In the Army GSO workin in the 1st Aviation Regiment, Qualified helicopter instructor

What makes a good leader?
A
- Leads by examples, wouldn’t ask team mates to do anything they wouldn’t do
- Self-assurance/confidence
- Self-awareness
- Ownership

What is your greatest fault?
A
- That when I become dedicated to a task, I can become distracted from other things such as spending time with friends and family
- Sometimes I will try and take too much on board and it can lead to me spreading myself thin

- He leads by example “the standard you walk past is the standard you accept”
- Can adopt different leadership styles when necessary

- Get to operate advanced technology within the NAVY
- World class training
- Work as an engineer with a purpose

Why do you want to be a pilot
A
- I love flying and planes I find them fascinating
- I want to be a pilot with a purpose
- It’s challenging and exciting
- Always loved planes
- Work experience with the Air Force

What do you do after you have failed something?
A
- I’m a resilient person
- I learn from what I did wrong the first time and try again
- Pilot Aptitude test I didn’t get the result I needed I waited came back more prepared and tried again
- Work experience program I didn’t get in first time but I applied again and was successful
- Moved from TAS to NSW ended up graduating as school captain and dux
