What does 20 week NEOC consist of

A
  • Classroom lessons: Officer development, oral and written communications, naval message writing, management and leadership, defence studies and navy history
  • In the field training: drill and ceremonial, physical training, officer of the day duties, a swim test, first aid, small arms training (F88 Steyr) and adventure training
  • Upon graduation at NEOC you will be entitled to a cert iv in frontline management

  4. posted to ship as Assistant WEEO (Weapons electrical engineer officer) for 9-12 months
  5. Weapons Electrical Certificate of Competency (WECC) examination board - Achievement of the WECC qualifies the individual to be a Deputy WEEO
  6. Ashore time, 2-3 years
  7. Deputy WEEO 2 years - achieve Weapons Engineering Charge Qualification (WECQ)
  8. 2- 3 years ashore - promotion to Lieutenant Commander –> run a Weapons Engineering department in a major warship.
