Q

An Interview On The Use Of Social Media

A

Variables: IV- Age of PPS and what social media they use- ask age + media used. DV- Amount of time spent on social media- Screen time

Hypotheses: Significantly people under the age of 30 will spend a lot more time on a range of social media than people under 30. This is known from previous research that younger people spend more time on a range of social media.

Null Hypothesis: Age will not influence media usage
Sample: People above and below 30- above 16- Opportunity sampling- convenient, cheap and not time consuming

Design: Semi-structured interview as it combines both the structured and unstructured interview styles. A few predetermined closed questions will be asked while the rest will be more open and planned ones.

Procedure: Ask to interview, gain consent, ask questions, mark down answers, repeat for each PPS, record results, graph data-statistical tests.
