Peroxisomal Targeting Flashcards

1
Q

What is the intrinsic signal in the protein?

A

Q

What is the receptor that recognises the signal?

A

PTS recognised by Pex5 Receptor. Pex5 binds to cargo protein in the cytoplasm.

Note, the receptor is recycled

Q

What is the translocation machinery?

A

13 Pex Proteins make up transport channel across peroxisomal membrane. This binds to the Pex-5-cargo complex.
