Peritoneal Folding Flashcards
Peritoneal folding in horizontal section?
Horizontal section is cut from Horizontal and then seee from above.
We divide abdomen at 2 parts.
Supracolic: above transverse colon
Infracolic; below transverse colon
What to see in supracolic?
Left Right
Stomach
Abdominal aorta liver
Spleen inf. Vena cava
L. Kidney r. Kidney
How peritoneum line supracolic?
It shows that liver is covered almost fully so we can suggest that liver is come from anterior.
See fig 1 on Samsung notes
What are sacs of peritoneum?
Greater sac: upto posterior side of liver where there is v small space.
Lesser sac; the small peritoneum after foramen.
(Epiploic foramen or foramen of winslow)
No anatomical division. Only for understanding
Ligaments in supracolic compartment?
Between spleen and stomach:
gastrosplenic ligament
Between spleen and L.kidney:
lienorenal ligament
Visceras of infracolic compartment.?
Left right
Descending colon Ascending colon
Abdominal aorta Superior vena cava
In centre small intestine
See fig 2 on samsung notes.
Infolds of peritoneum? And name these folds.
There are 5 places in peritoneum in infracolic compartment where arteries passes so peritoneum inverts inside.
Median umblical folds
Medial umblical folds
Lateral umblical folds
Lesser sac and infracolic compartment?
Lesser sac extends down infront of intestine.
See fig 3 in samnsung notes.
Vertical section
See fig 4 on Samsung note
What is THE MESENTRY
Peritoneum fold which connect small intestine with Posterior abdominal wall is called THE mesentry
