Conjoint Tendon And Cremester Muscle Flashcards
What is conjoint tendon?
The int. Oblique muscles and transverse muscle are inserted to Pectin pubis and pubic tubercle. So there fibers are joined together and form tendon called conjoint tendon
Attachment of conjoint tendon
Medially Pectin pubis
Laterally free cause both muscle fibers separates then
Function of conjoint tendon
Strengthens the muscle.
Also there is superficial inguinal ring So to prevent like hernia it helps
What is Cremester muscle?
This is actually the loops of muscles not a complete muscle fibres. All the loops of muscle are joined by connective tissue. Not strong muscle.
Function of cremester muscle
When spermatic cord (males) round ligament of uterus (females) goes from inguinal ligent so there it form covering from cressmester muscle.
Protection of spermatic cord.
To push or pull spermatic cord.
Nerve supply of cremester muscle
Genetofemoral nerve
Cresmestetric relfex.
When upper medial portion of thigh is tapped then scrotum lift upwards if not then there is prob in spermetic cord.
