Q

Origin and insertion of Ant. Abdominal muscles?

A

Ext. Oblique muscles:
O: last 8 ribs and fleshy origin ( move downward and medially)
I: xipoid proces, rectus abdmonis
and outer lip of ilac crest and pectinate line and become aponeurotic

Goes anteriorly the rectus abdominis

Q

Linea alba?

Linea semilunaris

A

It starts form xipoid process and ends to pibic symphysis. Central line junction of all fibres.

Lateral part of rectus abdominis where some tendenous fibres are found

Q

Fleshy and aponeurotic part of ext. Oblique Muscle.

A

From rib 9 imaginary line is drawn before which the part is fleshy then aponeurotic

And from ilac tubercle and pubic symphysis.
Before that fleshy after that aponeurotic

Q

How inguinal ligament is formed?

A

From ant. Superior ilac spine to pubic tubercle Ext. Oblique Muscle is free so it forms infolding in itself and forms inguinal ligament.

Q

Internal oblique muscles?

A

It runs from downward to upwards

Origin: lateral 2/3 of inguinal ligament and intermediate portion of ilac crest and thoracolumber fascia.

Insertion: last 3 or 4 ribs fleshy fibers.
And into xiphoid, linea alba, pubic symphysis and pectineate line.

At linea semilunaris there is spilit of aponeurotic fibres of int. Oblique muscles, one goes anteriorly (ant. Lamina) and one goes posteriorly (post. Lamina). This all happen upto umblicus

At umbilicus all fibres are going front of rectus abdominis and forms a line called arcuate line or pouch of duclus

Q

Traversus abdominis?

A

Origin: lateral 1/3 and inner lip of ilac crest and thoracolumber fascia
And last 6 costal cartilage

Insert: xiphoid proces, linea alba, pubic symphysis, pubic crest and pectineate line.

Passes behind the rectus abdominis and post lamina of int. Oblique muscles upto umblicus.

After umblicus passes anterior to rectus abdominis but posterior to int. Oblique muscles.

Q

Rectus abdominis?

A

Have two parts lateral and medial

Origin: lateral from pubic crest
Medial from pubic symphysis

Insertions: xipoid process. And then from that we made straight horizontal line which cuts the 7,6, and 5th costal cartilage and insert into 5th.

These muscles have tendenous intersection which make them divided and makes abs.
