Cutaneous Nerve Supply Flashcards
How cutaneous nerve of abdomen is related to that of thorax?
The atypical nerve of thorax starting from T7 to T11 provide cutaneous supply of thorax as well as abdomen.
These nerve runs between internal and inner most thoracic muscles in thorax.
How these nerve goes to abdomen from thorax?
T7 T8 T9 these 3 nerve after providing nerve supply to there desired place, there anterior portion goes behind the costal margin and pierce the diaphragm and enter the abdomen.
T10 and T11, because last two ribs are floating ribs and don’t form costal margin so these nerve arise and directly pierce the diaphragm and enter the abdomen
How these thorax atypical nerve supply?
In abdomen these nerves runs between internal oblique and transverse abdominis muscle.
It then pierce the int. Oblique muscle and then rectus abdominis and then facsia of ext. Oblique muscles. And then supply to skin.
All this will be followed by T7 to T12.
How genital are supplied
The L1 segment of inguinal have two nerve.
Ilio inguinal nerve travel in inguinal canal, passes from superficial inguinal ring and enter to scrotum. And pierce to give cutaneous supply to skin.
Ilio hypogastric nerve: pierce from above the superficial inguinal ring and supply.
How lateral cutaneous supply of abdomen happen?
The lateral cutaneous branch of T10 and T11 runs downwards and pierce ext. Obligations muscle and become cutaneous to provide nerve supply
