Where is the superficial perineal pouch located? What is contained within it?

A

Te superficial perineal pouch is between the membranous layer of superficial fascia and the perineal membrane.

Contains:
Root
Bulb (male) or vestibular bulb (female)
Corpus spongiosum in male
Crura of penis/clitoris (form corpora cavernosa) and are invested in by ischiocvernous muscles
Muscles: bulbospongiosus muscle, ischiocaverernosus muscles, superficia transverse perinei muscles
Gland (greater vestibular glands in females)

Where is the deep perineal pouch?

A

Is the space superior to the perineal membrane, space betwene the perineal membrane and superior fascia of the urogenital diaphragm
Posterior boundary is the superior fascia of UG diaphragm and perineal membrane fused between ischial tuberosities
