CLINCIAL FEATURES: Pericarditis
A
Symptoms
- Substernal sharp chest pain
- Worse on movement/inspiration/lying flat
- Relived by sitting forward
Signs
- Pericardial friction rub
- Fever

INVESTIGATIONS: Pericarditis
A
ECG
- Widespread ST elevtion
- Concave shaped (saddle-shaped)
- T wave inversion

MANAGEMENT: Pericarditis
A
- NSAIDs (reduce inflammation & ease pain)*
- Colchine (gout medication)
- Can use corticosteroids if effective against underlying disease
