time management:
- the manner in which a person, group or population organizes, schedules, and prioritizes certain activities
time use:
- manner in which a person manages their activity levels, adapts to changes in routines, and organizes their days, weeks, and years

- specific, automatic adaptive or maladaptive behaviors
- may be healthy or unhealthy, efficient or inefficient, and supportive or harmful

A
- established sequences of occupations or activities that provide a structure for daily life
- can also promote or damage health
- shared routines: involve two or more people to take place in a similar manner regardless of the individuals involved, can be nested in co-occupations

A
- sets of behaviors expected by society and shaped by culture and context
- may be further conceptualized and defined by a person, group, or population
- are an aspect of occupational identity meaning they help to define who a person, group or population believes themselves to be on the basis of their occupational history and desires for future
- certain roles are often associated with certain activities and occupations
- when exploring role OTs consider the complexity of identity and the limitations associated with assigning stereotypical occupations to specific roles
- therapists also consider how clients construct their occupations and establish efficient and supportive habits and routines to achieve health outcomes, fulfil their perceived roles and identity, and determine whether their roles reinforce their values and beliefs

- symbolic actions with spiritual, cultural, or social meaning
- contribute to a client’s identity and reinforce the client’s values and beliefs
- some are associated with different seasons or times of the year, whereas others are associated with times of the day or days of the week
