Performance Flashcards
What is considered a WET runway?
areas of reflectivity from moisture, no standing water
Where would you find info re Contamination LEVEL 1?
Perf section of AOM Vol1
You’re using Aerodata, not the TLR. The temperature is 10 C greater than the TLR temperature. Do you need a new TLR?
NO.When using ACARS performance data, the TLR can be invalid for environmental conditions. However, if the TLR is
invalid for PTOW or MEL/CDL components, a new TLR must be generated. The TLR does not have to be transmitted
to the crew
You’re now 12,000 lbs heavier than the TLR numbers. Do you need new numbers if you’re using Aerodata for perfromance calculations?
Yes. You’ll need a new TLR and flight plan
The stab trim from the TLR differs from FMC figures by 3 units. What do you do?
IF A DIFFERENCE OF MORE THAN 2 UNITS IS NOTED, A REVIEW OF ALL FMC ENTRIES WILL BE
ACCOMPLISHED
You have —- on the V speeds after entering the performance numbers. What does this mean? Do you need to do anything ?
Means the FMC cannot generate data for the inputs given. Stop all inputs. Investigate. Something is wrong
What are the normal AB, Thrust reverser, and flaps settings?
Ab 2, Thrust Rev idle, Flaps 25
What if you can’t get AB2 and Flaps 25 performance?
Flaps 30 AB 3 then
Where can Complex Special Procedures be found?
Aerodata Handbook
How long is the TLR good for?
12 hours
What’s ICAO ‘A’ noise abatement profile?
Thrust reduction at 1500’ AFE
What is NADP 2?
Accelleration height is 1000’ AFE, and Thrust Reduction at Flaps 5
What is NADP 1?
Accelleration height is 3000’ and thrust reduction is at 1000’ AFE
You lose an engine in IMC, do you continue on the SID?
Straight out to 1000’ if wx below 1000/3
No turns will be commenced below 1,000’ Above Field Elevation (AFE) when takeoff weather is less than
1,000’ ceiling and 3 sm / 5 km visibility unless a Special Departure Procedure prescribes otherwise, or the
assigned instrument departure procedure specifically requires a turn before reaching 1,000’ AFE
What is the engine failure procedure in VMC?
no turns below 1000’, return to the airport VMC to land
What is the engine failure below 1000’ in IMC?
Climb straight ahead to 1,000' AFE, then commence turn to NAVAID or heading as listed using maximum bank angle appropriate for aircraft speed. • If NAVAID is listed, hold on the inbound radial using a direct entry and standard holding procedures. • If heading is listed, fly heading until a minimum safe altitude is attained. Radar vectors may be accepted when available after reaching 1,000'.
What’s the procedure for engine failure between 1000’ and 3000’?
Commence turn to NAVAID or heading as listed using maximum bank angle appropriate for aircraft speed. • If NAVAID is listed, hold on the inbound radial using a direct entry and standard holding procedures. • If heading is listed, fly heading until a minimum safe altitude is attained. Radar vectors may be accepted when available.
The landing distance on the TLR is caclulated how?
50’ threshold crossing, 500’ + landing distance multiplied by 15%
The TLR is valid for 12 hours. If you’re on a 14 hour flight will you need a new one before you land>?
No. legal for takeoff, legal to land
The aerodata does not return valid takeoff information. Can you just take off using the TLR data?
Yes. if the TLR is valid, you can use it
What does this mean? 26L-E2000F
rwy 26L east 2000 feet shortened
ACARS takeoff performance has “ANTI ICE” defaulted to AUTO SELECT. what does this mean?
will default to eng anti ice ON when temperatures are below 10 C and the runway is not dry
When would you need to select ANTI ICE ON for the ACARS takeoff performance then?
if visibility less than 1 sm and temps below 10C
