Performance Flashcards
On an ACARS landing report, what does a W next to a runway length value indicate?
A WIND component was used to calculate that number.
On an ACARS landing report, what does an asterisk (*) next to a landing distance or weight limit value indicate?
Conditions exceed limitations. The landing distance calculated is longer than the available runway length. For a landing weight the weight exceeds the performance limited landing weight.
On an ACARS landing report, what does a dash (-) next to an unfactored landing distance or weight limit mean?
A dash indicates the data does not exceed limits but the factored distance would exceed runway length available.
What does ‘unfactored’ mean in regard to landing data?
Unfactored is precisely flown without any additives applied for additional speed, long landings, delays in braking, or contamination. It is the ‘test pilot profile’
What does Factored landing distance mean?
Factored landing data applies a safety factor to the landing distance for a margin of error.
What does an X next to a landing distance or weight limit mean on an ACARS report?
The value exceeds XW limits.
What does a T indicate on an ACARS report?
The tailwind component exceeds limits.
What does a pound (#) symbol mean next to a runway condition or autobrake value?
The setting was part of the request.
ACARS data is predicated with the aircraft landing within the first _________ of runway.
(Not including AIII)
1000 feet
Where is drift down speed found?
FMC: CRZ page, select ENG and appropriate side.
PH
For ACARS performance, are inflight failures of Thrust Reversers or Antiskid NON NORMAL or INOP?
INOP
A dash - next a datapoint means?
A dash - indicates that if that value was factored (safety margin included) the distance would exceed runway length. Margins are thin!
What does an asterisk * mean on a ACARS report?
The value exceeds the runway available. For runway length there are distances provided for reference however the asterisk indicates that value is over the available runway. For the LTP no value is provided.
Heavy precipitation degrades braking action to _____.
2
What can cause the Takeoff N1 and the performance packet N1 to not be equal?
Bleed Switch Position
When is a MAX effort stop required?
Runway length is less than 7000 feet and braking less than good.
What is an approximate typical fuel burn for climb?
4000 lbs (MAX is a bit less)
What is an approximate fuel burn for cruise
6000lbs / hr (MAX is a little less)
What is an approximate fuel burn for descent? (Assuming flight idle descent for the most part)
1000 lbs
When does the CONFIG light come on? When will it turn off?
Comes on at 1000lbs imbalance but will not go off until a 200lb imbalance exists.
If you see 4.50 on the fuel value, how many minutes is remaining approximately?
45 minutes. (a bit more in the max)
For the takeoff roll, what is a good estimate for how many seconds it should take to get to 80 KIAS? For V1?
15 seconds to 80, 30 seconds to V1.
