Perfomance Flashcards
What are the minimum take off climb gradients?
Second segment 2.4% gross
Final segment 1.2% gross
When may flex not be used for take off?
Contaminated runway
Windshear reported
How would you calculate landing and approach climb gradients?
Landing - all engs, gear down and approach configuration - 3.2%.
Low VIS - 2.5% gross if DH.
Approach - SE, gear up and approach configuration - 2.1% LPC LDG.
What does REC MAX ALT mean?
Provides a 0.3g buffet margin.
Aircraft will climb at 300fpm at max climb thrust.
Aircraft will cruise on flight at max cruise thrust.
Aircraft will maintain a speed above green dot and below vmo.
Max selectable alt is FL398 (0.2g buffet margin).
What does OPT ALT mean and how is it calculated?
Based on cost index, weight and FMCG wind data.
Compromise between time and fuel saving.
Requires a 15 min cruise segment.
What are the wake vortex separation minima for take off?
Heavy - full length 2 mins, intersection 3 mins
A380 - full length 3 mins, intersection 4 mins
What is the wake vortex separation minima for approach?
Upper medium (b757) 4 miles
Heavy 5 miles
A380 7 miles
Where does RVSM start? What is the separation? Where would you find the list of requirements?
FL290
1000’ vertically
