Fuel Flashcards
If planning to tanker maximum fuel, what are the max landing weight considerations to base your tanker figure around?
MLW - 1% MLW
eg
A320 66000-660=65340kg
A319 61000-610=60390kg
What is final reserve?
30 mins holding fuel.
1500’ above destination aerodrome level.
Expected weight above destination aerodrome.
ISA conditions.
When can you not tanker fuel?
Landing on a contaminated or slippery runway.
Landing on a performance limited runway.
What is the associated fuel usage of engine anti ice?
1kg per min or 2kg per min in the hold
What is the associated fuel usage of eng + wing anti ice?
2kg per min or 3kg per min in the hold
What is the associated file usage of taxi fuel?
SE 7kg per min
Both engines 10kg per min
What is the associated fuel usage of APU?
2kg per min
What’s is the associated trip fuel adjustment for extra track miles / reduced track miles?
Increased 5kg/mile
Decreased 4kg/mile
What is contingency fuel?
5% of trip fuel or
5 mins holding at 1500 aal, ISA conditions
What is contingency fuel carried for?
Unforeseen circumstances, level, wind, track etc
When can we continue to fly to destination knowing that we get there below CNR?
Landing assured and delay or max EAT known
What is the fuel for normal, caution and emergency phases? And what would your actions be?
Normal = CNR Caution = May be below CNR at dest, so decrease CI, opt alt, directs, closer alternate, land and refuel. Emergency = MAY be below final reserve at dest - PAN. Emergency = WILL be below final reserve at dest - MAY DAY.
Can you burn your contingency on the ground?
Yes, extended delays at the hold are unforeseen circumstances.
