What are 3different types of testing a firm would use
Intelligence tests

Medical test this is used to test candidates physical attributes and ability’s
Attaintment test are used to asses the skills someone has learned through a course of study eg n5 exams.
What are two types of interviews
One to one and panel interview
What is a one to one interview and what are the pros and cons
One-on-One interview where one interviewer conducts all the interviews and selects the best person. This can be a quick method but limited in its effectiveness, as a poor interviewer might have a personality clash with a candidate or not take to them in the first few minutes and then spend the remaining time focussing on their negative attributes.
Explain what a panel interview
This can be avoided by using panel interviews where several people will interview the candidate with each member of the panel taking a turn to ask questions about different aspects of the job. This again can be limited, as it can be difficult to arrange a time when all the panel members are free at the same time.
What are 4 benefits of training staff
Employees become more competent at their jobs, which in turn leads to greater output, better quality and therefore increased profits.
• Training should also result in less waste, therefore a reduction in costs and greater profitability.
• If staff are better trained and more aware of what they are doing, then it should reduce the number of accidents in an organisation, which should reduce the business’ liabilities.
• Changes become easier to introduce due to staff being more flexible and capable of performing a number of different roles. Also if a member of staff is absent, then another member of staff should be able to take their place.
What are the main costs of training
Financial costs of training can be high, particularly if the business employs an external trainer to come in or if they have to send the staff off-site for the training.
• Work time is lost while staff are being trained, which means a reduced level of output.
• Once staff are fully trained they may leave for better paid jobs, which means the additional cost, time and effort of recruiting and training new staff.
