Penicilin Flashcards

1
Q

How do Penicillin’s work?

A

Beta-lactam disrupts CELL WALL

targets penicillin binding proteins

Beta lactam ring binds IRREVERSIBLY to PBP

Reduced PBP = weak wall = breakdown
