Pelvis nerves Flashcards
Pudendal nerve spinal cord levels
S2-S4
Pudendal nerve source
Sacral plexus (S2-S4)
Note: Loops between sacrotuberous and sacropinous ligaments alongside pudendal vessels. Mnemonic: S2, 3, 4 keeps the feces off the floor
Pudendal nerve destination
Nerves of anus; perineum; dorsal nerve of penis/clitoris, pelvic floor
Pudendal nerve innervates
Skin of perineum and external anus; clitoris/penis; muscles of pelvic floor, perineum, external anal sphincter
Dorsal nerve of clitoris/penis spinal cord levels
S2-S4
Dorsal nerve of clitoris/penis source
Pudendal nerve
Dorsal nerve of clitoris/penis destination
clitoris/penis
Dorsal nerve of clitoris/penis innervates
Skin and deep tissue of clitoris/penis
Pelvic Sympathetic chain spinal cord levels
L1-L2
Note: Travels inferiorly into pelvic cavity to provide sympathetic innervation
Pelvic Sympathetic chain source
Abdominal sympathetic chain, ventral rami of spinal nerves L1-L2
Pelvic Sympathetic chain destination
Viscera of pelvis, skin/glands of periphery in pelvis and lower limb
Pelvic Sympathetic chain innervates
Pelvic viscera, reproductive organs, glands of pelvis and lower limb
Obturator Nerve spinal cord levels
L2-L4
Note: Found medial to psoas major, runs inferiorly to go through obturator canal
Obturator nerve source
Ventral rami of spinal nerves L2-L4
Obturator nerve destination
Medial Thigh
