16
Q

Labia minora

A

Two hairless folds of skin, embryologically derives from urethral folds and found within the labia majora. Fuse anteriorly to form the prepuce of the clitoris and extend posteriorly either side of the vaginal opening

17
Q

Broad ligament

A

A flat sheet of peritoneum, associated with the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Extends from the lateral pelvic walls on both sides and folds over the internal genitalia

18
Q

Ovarian ligament

A

Attached to the ovary inferiorly. Connects ovary to the side of the uterus. A fibrous band of tissue that lies within the broad ligament. Joins uterus just below fallopian tubes

19
Q

Suspensory ligaments

A

Extends outwards from the ovary to the lateral ovarian wall, consists of a fold of peritoneum. Function is to contain ovarian vessels and nerves

20
Q

Round ligament

A

Remnant of embryological gubernaculum. Originates at uterine tubes and attaches to the labia marjora.
