What is a client server network?
Most file and data are saved on the server.
All computers connect to the server through a central hub or switch
The role of the server in client network server?
The server:
- controls access to the server and verifies accounts
- provides files to other computers on the network.
- installs software to each computer
What are shared folders?
Shared folders are folders created on the server by the network manager
They provide a place where users of the network can share and store files
What is a peer-peer network?
A server which doesn’t require a central hub
Each computer on the server is both a client and a server
Files are stored on the hard disk of the individual network devises
All computers on the network have equal status
How secure is a peer-peer network?
Each peer has access and control of shared files on the machines
