  1. Prime lungs – deep breath in, long breath out x 3
  2. 4th breath in, moisten lips, place lips firmly around tube and blow as hard as you can
  3. Repeat 3 times
    Note: patients may need to rest in between

  • press inhaler once and keep breathing normally
  • press second time and breath in and out 6 times
  • wash spacer once a week
