CSE
Is a form of child sex abuse. Occurs when an individual or group takes advantage of an imbalance of power to coerce, manipulate or decieve a child or young person under 18 into sexual activity

Presumption of death act 2013
Section 1
Applies wher a person who is missing:
a) is thought to have died or,
b) has not been known to be alive for a period of 7yrs
Section 46 - Children Act 1989
Where a constable has reasonable cause to believe that a child would otherwise be likely to suffer serious harm, he may
a) remove the child to suitable accommodation and keep him there or,
b) take such steps that are reasonable to ensure the childs removal from somewhere in which he is then been accommodated is prevented
Domestic Abuse
Any incident or patterns of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 and over, who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality
Types of abuse
1) Psychological abuse - name calling, shaming, isolate
2) Physical abuse - injuries consistant with assaults, not seen
3) Sexual abuse - rape, torn/stained, miscarraige, pregnancy
4) Emotional abuse - intimidation, threats, criticism, guilty
5) Financial abuse - controlling finances, restrictive allowance
Family Law Act 1996 - section 42 (civil law - county court)
Non-molestation order
Protects victim from being contacted by the abuser, if breach can be arrested. If victim wants one they need to contact solicitor

Occupation order
Court decides who lives in a house where both parties have an equal right to live there. MAYBE a power of arrest if breached

Forced marriage protection orders
Prevent victim from being taken abroad, can order passports to be handed over
Harrassment Act 1997 - section 5
Restraining order
Court can impose an order protecting the victim from contact of the abuser. Applied for by criminal trial, imposer does not have to be found guilty for an order to be imposed

Domestic Violence Protection Orders
Gives the constable a power to issue a notice which is intended to protect victims of DV. Will contain prohibitations similar to non-molesttion orders
- lasts 28days
- fall back if a victim is likely to to suffer violence/threat violence
- cannot impose bail conditions
- DOESNT have to be a criminal offence
- cant give one if court/bail conditions
- write on OEL why was or was not considered

Honour Based Violence
An incident or crime involving violence, threats of violence, intimidation, coercion or abuse (including psychological, physical, sexual, emotional or financial) which has or may be committed to protect or defend the honour of the individual, family and/or community for alleged or percieved breaches of the fmaily and/or communities code of behaviour
Female Genital Mutilation
FGM is a procedure where the female genitals are deliberatley cut, injured or changed where theres no reason for this to be done.
